We are looking for a Marine Superintendent.

The Marine Superintendent:

Is the responsible to ensure vessel is at all times ready to perform in accordance with pool and/or TC terms and conditions and is kept on the highest company and industry standards
Supports the Marine Managers in overall business procedures, customers and internal/external assurance
Ensure all procedures are done according to the company safety procedures
Maintains the safety system and ensure this is in line with the national and international regulations and the oil major vetting requirements
Ensure proper pre-inspection, routine inspections positive results in order to achieve company KPI’s and continually improve fleet results against industry benchmark
Is responsible for ensuring safe and correct working conditions onboard and in the office. Working in a multi-national environment, the official language will be English.

Responsibilities & Duties

Preparation and assurance of selected ships and shore based management for customer vetting and assessment. To assist, implement and monitor established methods to ensure that the ships and shore based management are prepared for the vetting inspections continuously, with the objective of being accepted by customers after vetting and TMSA audits.
Preparation and assurance of selected ships for Port State & Flag State inspections. To assist, implement and monitor established methods to ensure that the ships are prepared for the vetting inspections continuously, with the objective of zero observations arising from such inspections. In this respect utilizes all available tools [such as Vo-52 and flag check lists] for preparation of vessels.
Verification and evaluation of TMSA elements to monitor and ensure that Company’s shore based practices are in compliance and meeting the targets set by Company’s and to assist in improvement.
To collate relevant data and information to assist in the analysis and evaluation of the shipboard vetting and shore based management assessment results and identify the area and recommendations for improvement.
Ensures that each vessel is compliant with the latest safety regulations and in addition is operated according to changing environmental restrictions and regional guidelines
To prepare, execute shipboard inspection in order to ensure that all crew is properly trained, motivated and coached with regards to company, national and international regulations.
To carry out audits on board vessel to verify compliance with Company’s Safety management system. Identify weaknesses and recommend actions for improvement
To monitor and follow daily vessel correspondence and give feedback/provide assistance related to Marine related issues
To plan, maintain and improve a safety culture throughout the fleet in order to achieve the company HSSE objectives of zero accidents/ incidents
Recruitment / promotion Interviews of Shipboard crewmembers related to Company’s fleet
Investigate any reported incident /serious near miss to establish root causes and to propose recommendations to prevent a recurrence, executing preventive actions and monitor effective implementation.

Qualifications and skills

Minimum Chief Mate STCW Reg. ii/2 Unlimited or Marine chief engineer STCW III/2
Minimum 2 years’ experience as Captain or Chief Officer or Chief Engineer on chemical tankers
At least 1 year experience of working ashore as marine/vetting superintendent
Ability to work under pressure and 24/7 availability.
Good English
