Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Slaughter Line/Boning Hall Manager to join our dynamic team in Co. Carlow.

The manager is responsible for the day to day management and development of all operational activities for the boning hall. This includes the management of health and safety of personnel, leading individuals on HR and training issues, quality control and production.

This is a pivotal role within our Production Management Team, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate will oversee all operational activities within the boning hall, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.

The employer is a premier family-run butcher shop and abattoir based in County Carlow, Ireland. Renowned for our high-quality, locally sourced meats, it has been serving the community since 1978.

Job available only for EU citizens.

Benefits & conditions:

  • Competitive salary – ₮60,000 – ₮70,000 per year (gross annual salary, negotiable based on experience)
  • Accommodation: Private room in shared house available for ₮400 per month
  • Opportunity to earn a performance-based production bonus after 3 months.
  • Long-term stability with a full-time contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:

    • Oversee daily operations of the slaughter line and boning hall.
    • Ensure compliance with BRC quality standards.
    • Implement and manage health and safety protocols for all personnel.
    • Maintain high standards of quality control and production.
  • Staff Training and Leadership:

    • Train staff on various jobs within the slaughter line and boning hall.
    • Lead HR and training initiatives, fostering a productive and compliant work environment.
    • Write rosters and manage recruitment to meet operational needs.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Utilize kill line and boning hall software for efficient operations.
    • Ensure accurate and effective computer use within the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing a slaughter line and boning hall.
  • Running a slaughter line and boning hall.
  • Training of staff on the different jobs for both lines
  • Proficiency in using relevant software for kill line and boning hall operations.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of BRC quality standards.
  • Ability to manage health and safety requirements effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
